Overview
LI-Cadherin Antibody / Cadherin 17 is an antibody targeting LI-Cadherin. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: CDH17/2614. Format: Purified. Applications: IHC-P, WB.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: LI-Cadherin.
- Immunogen: A portion of amino acids 200-500 from human Cadherin 17 protein was used as the immunogen for the Cadherin-17 antibody..
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Cell membrane.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
Cadherin 17 (also known as LI Cadherin) is part of a family of Calcium-dependent adhesion molecules that function to mediate cell-cell binding critical to the maintenance of tissue structure and morphogenesis. LI-Cadherin (for liver-intestine-cadherin) expression is restricted to liver and intestine tissues and is specifically localized to the basolateral domain of hepatocytes and enterocytes.
Common research applications
- WB: relative abundance and band pattern assessment using appropriate controls.
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
