Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) is a bioactive lipid that acts through G-protein-coupled receptors to regulate cell proliferation, migration, and survival. In neuroscience, LPA signaling is implicated in neurodevelopment, synaptic plasticity, and neuroinflammation. Dysregulation of LPA pathways has been associated with neurodegenerative diseases and traumatic brain injury.
