Histidine is widely used in biological research and is a common ingredient of drug products. When histidine metabolism is blocked, its levels rise in blood, urine and cerebrospinal fluid. Histidinemia and urocanic aciduria are among the diseases tied to disorders of histidine metabolism.
Kit Components
| Component | HIS200 |
|---|---|
| 10 x C53 dye | 750 µl |
| 10 mM Histidine standard | 50 µl |
Assay Principle
The C53 dye shows a rise in fluorescence at 535 nm (excitation 485 nm) in the presence of histidine. Sample signals are converted to concentration with a linear standard curve made from the included histidine standard.
