Product Overview

The MicroMolar Phosphate Assay Reagent measures 0.2–20 µM inorganic phosphate. Phosphate reacts with molybdate and forms a blue complex with malachite green dye in acidic solution, and the amount of phosphate is measured by light absorbance at 650 nm.

Each pack contains 30 ml of reagent, enough for 200 assays in 96-well plates or more than 600 assays in 384-well plates. The reagent can also be used in cuvettes with a spectrophotometer.

Protocol Outline

  1. Prepare phosphate standards from 0.2 µM to 20 µM.
  2. In a 96-well plate, mix 100 µl of standard or sample with 150 µl of the reagent and incubate for 5 min.
  3. Read absorbance at 650 nm, plot the standard curve and calculate the phosphate concentration of the samples.

The ProFoldin protocol “Phosphate Assay” is linked under Documents.
