Amino acids, peptides and many drug molecules carry primary amine groups, and many samples contain ammonia or ammonium salts. This kit measures primary amines, ammonia and their salts at micromolar levels in biochemical reactions, biological samples, environmental water and pharmaceutical products.
Kit Components
| Component | PAA100K |
|---|---|
| 10 x PAA dye | 0.5 ml |
| Assay buffer | 5.5 ml |
| Reagent A | 5 ml |
| 1 mM Methylamine-HCl | 0.05 ml |
For measurement of 100 samples in 96-well plates; cuvettes may also be used.
Assay Principle
In the kit assay buffer, protonated amines and ammonium salts release the free amine or ammonia, which reacts with the PAA dye to form a fluorescent product read at 470 nm (excitation 390 nm). Concentrations are calculated from a linear standard curve.
