Assay Principle
This sandwich ELISA quantifies mouse C-X-C motif chemokine 10 (gene Cxcl10) in cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma ( heparin). Strips are pre-coated with a capture antibody. After the sample is added, a biotinylated detection antibody binds the captured protein, and an avidin–biotin–peroxidase complex supplies the enzyme. TMB develops color in proportion to the bound target; the reaction is stopped and read at 450 nm, and concentrations are read from the standard curve.
CXCL10 (IP-10) is an interferon-γ-inducible chemokine that binds the receptor CXCR3. It attracts activated T cells, NK cells and monocytes to sites of infection and inflammation and also has angiostatic effects. CXCL10 is commonly measured as a marker of interferon-driven immune responses in viral infection, autoimmunity and transplant research.
