Assay Principle
This one-step sandwich ELISA quantifies mouse interleukin-2 (gene Il2) in cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA, citrate). The strips are pre-coated with a capture antibody; sample and an HRP-linked detection antibody are incubated together, so the assay needs fewer wash and incubation steps than a standard sandwich ELISA (the supplier markets the Quick format as a 90-minute assay). TMB develops color in proportion to the bound target, and the plate is read at 450 nm.
Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a cytokine made mainly by activated CD4+ T cells. Acting through the IL-2 receptor and JAK1/JAK3–STAT5 signaling, it drives T-cell proliferation, boosts NK-cell killing and supports B-cell responses, while also sustaining regulatory T cells that keep immune tolerance in check. It is a standard marker of T-cell activation in immunology research.

Example standard curve (OD450, pg/mL): 0 = 0.033; 15.6 = 0.102; 31.2 = 0.200; 62.5 = 0.399; 125 = 0.634; 250 = 1.357; 500 = 1.726; 1000 = 2.042. Run a new standard curve on every plate.
Storage & Handling
Store at 4 °C for up to 6 months or −20 °C for up to 12 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. Ships on gel ice and tolerates up to 3 days at room temperature; freeze on arrival.
