Assay Principle
This EZ-Set™ kit supplies a matched capture and detection antibody pair and a standard for building your own sandwich ELISA for mouse macrophage colony-stimulating factor 1 (gene Csf1) in cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma (EDTA). You coat the plate with the capture antibody, add samples and standards, detect with the biotinylated antibody and an avidin–biotin–peroxidase complex, develop with TMB and read at 450 nm. Plates, diluents, wash buffer, TMB and stop solution are not included.
M-CSF (CSF1) is a cytokine that supports the survival, proliferation and differentiation of monocytes, macrophages and their precursors by signaling through the CSF1R receptor. It is also needed for osteoclast formation and bone resorption, and influences inflammation, fertility and cell migration, so it is measured in studies of macrophage biology, bone remodeling and inflammatory disease.
