Overview

MyoD1 Antibody is an antibody targeting MyoD1. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: 5.8A. Format: Purified. Applications: FACS, IF, IHC.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Target: MyoD1.
  • Immunogen: Recombinant mouse MyoD1 protein was used as the immunogen for this MyoD1 antibody. The epitope of this mAb maps between….
  • Species reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Other species not known..
  • Localization: Nuclear. Only nuclear staining should be considered as evidence of skeletal muscle differentiation..
  • Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).

Biological background (from provided description)

Recognizes a phosphor-protein of 45kDa, identified as MyoD1. It does not cross react with myogenin, Myf5, or Myf6. Antibody to MyoD1 labels the nuclei of myoblasts in developing muscle tissues. MyoD1 is not detected in normal adult tissue, but is highly expressed in the tumor cell nuclei of rhabdomyosarcomas.

Common research applications

  • IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
  • IF/ICC: subcellular localization imaging with proper background controls.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
  • Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
