Compound Overview

NVOC cage-TMP-Halo is a cell-permeable, photoactivatable inducer of protein dimerization that can rapidly and reversibly control protein localization in living cells, making it useful for research into dynamic cellular processes[1]. It is supplied as an off-white to light yellow solid (C40H56ClN7O13, MW 878.36) at 96.03% purity.

In Vitro

SolventSolubilityNotes
DMSO150 mg/mL (170.77 mM)requires sonication; use freshly opened DMSO (absorbed moisture lowers solubility)

Aliquot the stock solution and store it at -80°C (up to 6 months) or -20°C (up to 1 month); avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Data provided by the manufacturer.

In Vitro

NVOC cage-TMP-Halo (20 μM, 60 min) showed dramatic recruitment of mCherry-eDHFR to centromeres, with a t1/2 of ~ 15 s, in a HeLa cell line expressing CENPB-GFP-Haloenzyme and mCherry-eDHFR[1]. NVOC cage-TMP-Halo (20 μM, 15, 30, and 60 min) is capable of spatially precise control of protein localization in the HeLa cell line[1].
