Oleoyl-D-lysine is a lipid-based, selective inhibitor of Glycine Transporter-2 (GlyT2). It reverses neuropathic pain in mice and shows an antidrowsiness effect against chronic neuropathic pain, and it appears safe and effective without causing respiratory depression[1]. In Vivo
In a mouse model of chronic neuropathic pain (chronic contraction injury), Oleoyl-D-lysine (30 mg/kg, 50 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg; i.p.) effectively reversed neuropathic pain, with peak analgesia reached at 30 mg/kg and no respiratory depression. Mild side effects appeared at 100 mg/kg, but convulsions were not induced[1].
