Overview
Oncoprotein 18 Antibody / OP18 / Stathmin 1 is an antibody targeting Oncoprotein. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: STMN1/8439. Format: Purified. Applications: IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: Oncoprotein.
- Immunogen: A recombinant fragment of human Stathmin 1 protein was used as the immunogen for the Oncoprotein 18 antibody..
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Cytoplasm, Cytoskeleton.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
Op18 (for oncoprotein 18, also designated stathmin, prosolin or metablastin) is a conserved, Tubulin-associated, intracellular phosphoprotein. Many different phosphorylated forms of Op18 are observed, and it is expressed as two different isoforms. Op18 is considered a critical regulator of microtubulin dynamics and is downregulated by p53.
Common research applications
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
