Product Overview

This is a research-grade recombinant antibody that reproduces the antigen-binding specificity of the reference therapeutic Pembrolizumab. Like the reference molecule, it binds PD-1 and blocks PD-L1/PD-L2 engagement, restoring T-cell response. It is intended for in vitro research use as a binding reagent, functional (blocking/neutralizing) tool, and as a positive control or reference standard in bioanalytical assays.

This product carries the same variable-region specificity as Pembrolizumab and therefore targets PD-1 (CD279). It is a research reagent and is not the licensed therapeutic product.

Target & Mechanism

Target antigen: PD-1 (CD279). The molecule binds PD-1 and blocks PD-L1/PD-L2 engagement, restoring T-cell response.

Research Applications

Application Notes
ELISA (antigen binding) Use as a binding reagent against PD-1 (CD279); suitable as a capture/detection antibody and as an assay control.
Ligand blocking / neutralization Functional blocking of PD-1 (CD279) in biochemical or cell-based assays.
Biophysics (SPR / BLI) Kinetic and affinity characterization of binding to PD-1 (CD279).
Flow cytometry Detection of cell-surface PD-1 (CD279) on relevant cell types.
PK / ADA assay control Positive control or reference standard in pharmacokinetic (drug-level) and anti-drug-antibody (immunogenicity) assays for Pembrolizumab.

What applications has this antibody been validated for?

This antibody has been validated for multiple applications. Always refer to the product datasheet for recommended dilution ranges and appropriate positive control samples for each application type.

Which species does this antibody react with?

Validated reactivity has been confirmed for Human. Cross-reactivity with additional species may exist based on sequence homology but has not been confirmed by the manufacturer. For unlisted species, we recommend running a preliminary validation experiment.

What secondary antibody should I pair with this product?

This antibody was raised in Human. For indirect detection (WB, IHC, IF), select an anti-Human secondary antibody that matches the isotype. For direct detection, check the variant selector for conjugated formats. Confirm secondary antibody compatibility before ordering.

What is the immunogen used to generate this antibody?

Please refer to the product datasheet for detailed immunogen information. This data is available on the manufacturer datasheet linked in the Documents tab.

How should this antibody be stored?

Please refer to the storage conditions on the product label and datasheet. As a general best practice: upon receipt, aliquot into single-use volumes to minimize freeze-thaw cycling, which can progressively reduce antibody performance and lead to aggregation.

Is this antibody suitable for use with my specific cell line or tissue?

Validated reactivity covers Human samples. Performance can vary across different cell lines and tissue types depending on target antigen expression levels and epitope accessibility. We recommend verifying target expression in your specific model system using a known positive control before proceeding to experimental samples.
