Overview
PGR Antibody / Progesterone Receptor is an antibody targeting PGR. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: PGR/3817. Format: Purified. Applications: IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: PGR.
- Immunogen: A portion of amino acids 483-571 was used as the immunogen for the PGR antibody..
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Nucleus.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
This MAb is specific to PR/PGR and shows minimal cross-reaction with other members of the family. PR is expressed as two major isoforms, PR-A (81kDa) and PR-B (116kDa). Expression of PgR has been suggested to reflect an intact estrogen regulatory machinery and therefore, predict better clinical response to endocrine therapy than ER alone. It is excellent for immunohistochemical staining of formalin/paraffin tissues.
Common research applications
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
