Compound Overview

Protein kinase inhibitor H-7 dihydrochloride is a potent inhibitor of PKC (protein kinase C). At 100 μM, it completely inhibits ODC (ornithine decarboxylase) induction by both TPA (the skin tumor promoter 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate) and phospholipase C[1]. It is supplied as a white to off-white solid (C14H19Cl2N3O2S, MW 364.29) at 99.63% purity.

SolventSolubilityNotes
DMSO16.67 mg/mL (45.76 mM)requires sonication and warming and heat to 80°C; use freshly opened DMSO (absorbed moisture lowers solubility)

Aliquot the stock solution and store it at -80°C (up to 6 months) or -20°C (up to 1 month); sealed storage, away from moisture and light; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
