Scientific background
NT (Neurotensin) is a neuroscience-related marker used to study neuronal/glial biology, synaptic function, or neuroinflammatory processes (target dependent).
Changes in marker concentrations can help relate functional outcomes (behavior, electrophysiology) to molecular changes in specific brain regions or fluids.
Quantitative profiling is often most informative when combined with region-matched sampling and appropriate normalization/controls.
Why it matters
- Quantify NT (Neurotensin) to compare biological changes across conditions, doses, or time points.
- Generate concentration data from a standard curve to support biomarker and mechanistic studies.
How the ELISA works
Designed for Rat samples, this kit uses a This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with Rat NT. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Rat NT. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Rat NT in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.. After binding and washing, signal is converted to concentration using a standard curve.
Sample types: Serum, plasma, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.
- Detection range: 46.88-3000 pg/mL
