Scientific Background
Human BPHL Protein — also known as BPH-RP; MCNAA; VACVASE — BPHL is a member of the serine protease family. BPHL is expressed large quantities in liver and kidney and in minor quantities in heart, intestine and skeletal muscle. BPHL is a specific alpha-amino acid ester hydrolase that prefers small, hydrophobic, and aromatic side chains and does not have a stringent requirement for the leaving group other than preferring a primary alcohol. It catalyzes the hydrolytic activation of amino acid ester prodrugs of nucleoside analogs such as valacyclovir and valganciclovir. BPHL also activates valacyclovir to acyclovir. It may play a role in detoxificat
Research into Human BPHL Protein supports investigations in metabolic regulation and endocrine signaling, with implications for diabetes & insulin resistance.
Product Description
E. coli (Prokaryotic)N-His
Produced in E. coli (Prokaryotic), yielding a high-purity non-glycosylated form suitable for structural and biochemical applications.
The N-His enables single-step affinity purification and can also serve as a handle for direct detection using anti-tag antibodies without target-specific reagents.
Expression region: Ser38-Gln291.

This protein is produced in E. coli (prokaryotic). E. coli expression gives high yield without glycosylation — verify that your assay tolerates non-glycosylated protein.
Purity: > 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE., confirmed by reducing SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin level: Please contact us for more information., measured by LAL assay — critical for cell-based studies. Identity is verified by peptide mapping or N-terminal sequencing on request.
Yes — biological activity is confirmed per lot. Activity data: Not validated for activity. Run a titration in your own system to establish optimal working concentration before committing all samples.
Reconstitution: Please refer to the printed manual for detailed information.. Storage: Generally, lyophilized proteins are stable for up to 12 months when stored at -20 to -80℃. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-8℃ for 2-. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw — each cycle risks partial denaturation.
This protein is validated for ELISA, Functional Assay (In Vitro). It is commonly used as an ELISA standard, binding partner in SPR/BLI, or stimulant in cell-based functional assays. Validate performance in your specific format before use in critical experiments.
