Product Overview
Recombinant Human DC Cocktail is a lyophilized supplement that combines recombinant human GM-CSF and IL-4, both expressed in human cells, at concentrations optimized for dendritic cell culture. It is tag-free, animal-free and xeno-free, lyophilized from a 0.2 µm-filtered PBS solution without carrier protein, with purity >95% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin <0.5 EU/µg.
The cocktail is formulated to drive differentiation of monocytes into dendritic cells (DCs). The resulting DCs serve immunology research on antigen presentation and T cell activation, DC-based vaccine development, cancer-immunotherapy models in which DCs present tumor antigens, and studies of DC involvement in autoimmune disease.
Expression system: Human cells · Tag-free · Animal-free
Scientific Background
Dendritic cells are key antigen-presenting cells of the immune system and are central to studies of immune responses, antigen presentation and T cell activation. Because they present antigens very effectively, DCs are also used as a platform in vaccine and cancer-immunotherapy research.
This product supplies GM-CSF and IL-4 together in one vial. The concentrations of both cytokines have been optimized by the manufacturer for dendritic cell culture, and the reconstituted cocktail is added directly to dendritic cell basic medium.
Research Applications
The DC Cocktail is designed for generating dendritic cells from monocytes for immunology research.
- Differentiation of monocytes into dendritic cells.
- Immunology research on immune responses, antigen presentation and T cell activation.
- DC-based vaccine development, using DCs as antigen-presenting platforms.
- Cancer-immunotherapy models in which DCs present tumor antigens to stimulate anti-tumor responses.
- Studies of the role of DCs in autoimmune disease.

Biological Activity & Quality Control
Biological activity is measured by the ability of the cocktail to stimulate proliferation of human TF-1 cells, an erythroleukemic indicator cell line.
Lot-specific activity and purity data are provided on the Certificate of Analysis (CoA), available from BioHippo on request.
Reconstitution
- Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening.
- Reconstitute the contents in 200 µL sterile PBS or basic medium.
- Add the reconstituted cocktail to an appropriate volume of dendritic cell basic medium.
- Medium supplemented with the DC cocktail can be stored at 4°C for one month.
