Scientific Background
Human FGF-4/FGF4 Protein — also known as FGF-4; FGF4; Fibroblast growth factor 4; HBGF-4; HST; HST-1; HSTF-1; HSTF1; Heparin secretory-transforming protein 1; He — Fibroblast growth factor 4(FGF-4) is a heparin binding member of the FGF family. The human FGF4 cDNA encodes 206 amino acids (aa) with a 33 aa signal sequence and a 173 aa mature protein with an FGF homology domain that contains a heparin binding region near the C-terminus. Mature human FGF4 shares 91%, 82%, 94% and 91% aa identity with mouse, rat, canine and bovine FGF4, respectively. Human FGF-4 has been shown to exhibit cross species activity. Expression of FGF-4 and its receptors, FGF R1c, 2c, 3c and 4, is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development. FGF-4 is proposed t
Research into Human FGF-4/FGF4 Protein supports investigations in tumor biology and oncology signaling, with implications for oncology signaling.

This protein is produced in E. coli (prokaryotic). E. coli expression gives high yield without glycosylation — verify that your assay tolerates non-glycosylated protein.
Purity: > 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE., confirmed by reducing SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin level: < 0.01 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method., measured by LAL assay — critical for cell-based studies. Identity is verified by peptide mapping or N-terminal sequencing on request.
Yes — biological activity is confirmed per lot. Activity data: Measured in a cell proliferation assay using MCF7 Human breast cancer cells The ED50 for this effect is 2-20 ng/ml.. Run a titration in your own system to establish optimal working concentration before committing all samples.
Reconstitution: Please refer to the printed manual for detailed information.. Storage: Generally, lyophilized proteins are stable for up to 12 months when stored at -20 to -80℃. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-8℃ for 2-. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw — each cycle risks partial denaturation.
This protein is validated for ELISA, Functional Assay (In Vitro). It is commonly used as an ELISA standard, binding partner in SPR/BLI, or stimulant in cell-based functional assays. Validate performance in your specific format before use in critical experiments.
