Product Overview
Recombinant Human G-CSF Protein (granulocyte colony-stimulating factor) is a tag-free, full-length human G-CSF expressed in human cells and supplied as a glycosylated monomer. It is produced in an animal-free, xeno-free format and lyophilized from a 0.2 µm-filtered PBS solution without carrier protein, with purity >95% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin <0.5 EU/µg.
G-CSF is a research tool for hematopoiesis and stem-cell biology, including hematopoietic stem cell mobilization, production of granulocytes and monocytes-macrophages, and immune-cell development. Its activity is confirmed by stimulation of murine M-NFS-60 cell proliferation.

Scientific Background
Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) is a hematopoietic growth factor of the CSF family. It is expressed mainly by the monocyte/macrophage lineage and also by cells of mesodermal origin, such as vascular endothelial cells, fibroblasts and mesothelial cells.
In hematopoiesis, G-CSF controls the production, differentiation and function of two related white-cell populations, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. It also mobilizes hematopoietic stem cells from the bone marrow into the peripheral blood.
Research Applications
Recombinant human G-CSF is used in hematopoiesis and stem-cell research.
- Hematopoietic stem cell mobilization studies.
- Hematopoiesis research on production and differentiation of granulocytes and monocytes-macrophages.
- Stem-cell biology research.
- Studies of immune-cell development.

Biological Activity & Quality Control
Biological activity is measured by the ability of the protein to stimulate proliferation of murine M-NFS-60 cells, a mouse myeloid leukemia indicator cell line.
Lot-specific activity and purity data are provided on the Certificate of Analysis (CoA), available from BioHippo on request.
Reconstitution
- Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening.
- Reconstitute in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin.
- Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles; a manual defrost freezer is recommended for storage.
Storage & Shipping
| Storage | As supplied: −20°C to −80°C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 2°C to 8°C for up to 1 month, or −20°C to −80°C for up to 3 months, under sterile conditions. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
