Product Overview
Recombinant Human IL-7 Protein is a tag-free, glycosylated monomer expressed in human cells. It is made in an animal-free, xeno-free format and supplied lyophilized from a 0.2 µm-filtered PBS solution without carrier protein, with purity >95% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin <0.5 EU/µg.
IL-7 is used in research on hematopoiesis and lymphoid development, on the development and maintenance of T and B cells, and for culture and expansion of T cells, including expansion for adoptive cell therapy research, as well as in cancer and antiviral immunology research and studies of IL-7 as a vaccine adjuvant. The manufacturer expresses this human protein in human cells, with extremely low endotoxin and high purity.
Expression system: Human cells · Tag-free · Animal-free
Scientific Background
IL-7 is a hematopoietic growth factor secreted by stromal cells in the bone marrow and thymus. It drives multipotent (pluripotent) hematopoietic stem cells toward lymphoid progenitor cells, and it has been studied in immune reconstitution after allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
The recombinant human protein is a glycosylated monomer that appears at 9, 25 and 30 kDa under reducing conditions.
Research Applications
IL-7 is used mainly in hematopoiesis, immunology and T-cell research; the main research areas are listed below.
- Hematopoiesis: proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells into lymphoid progenitor cells.
- Immunology: development and maintenance of T cells and B cells.
- T-cell culture: culture and expansion of T cells, including expansion for adoptive cell therapy research.
- Immunotherapy research: IL-7 in anti-tumor and antiviral immune responses.
- Vaccinology: studies of IL-7 as a vaccine adjuvant.

Biological Activity & Quality Control
Biological activity is measured by the ability of the protein to stimulate proliferation of murine 2E8 cells.
Lot-specific activity and purity data are provided on the Certificate of Analysis (CoA), available from BioHippo on request.
Reconstitution
- Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening.
- Reconstitute in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin.
- Store the reconstituted protein under sterile conditions at 2°C to 8°C for up to 1 month, or at −20°C to −80°C for up to 3 months.
- Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles; a manual-defrost freezer is recommended.
Storage & Shipping
| Storage | As supplied: −20°C to −80°C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 2°C to 8°C for up to 1 month, or −20°C to −80°C for up to 3 months, under sterile conditions. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
