Scientific Background

Human LIF Protein — also known as CDF; D Factor; DIA; Differentiation-Stimulating Factor; Emfilermin; HILDA; LIF; Leukemia Inhibitory Factor; MLPLI; Melan — Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) is a lymphoid factor that promotes long-term maintenance of embryonic stem cells by suppressing spontaneous differentiation. LIF has a number of other activities including cholinergic neuron differentiation; control of stem cell pluripotency; bone and fat metabolism; mitogenesis of certain factor dependent cell lines and promotion of megakaryocyte production in vivo. Human and murine mature LIF exhibit a 78% sequence identity at the amino acid level. Human LIF is equally active on human and mouse cells. Murine LIF is approximately 1000 fold less active on human

Research into Human LIF Protein supports investigations in tumor biology and oncology signaling, with implications for oncology signaling.

Product Description

E. coli (Prokaryotic)N-His

Produced in E. coli (Prokaryotic), yielding a high-purity non-glycosylated form suitable for structural and biochemical applications.

The N-His enables single-step affinity purification and can also serve as a handle for direct detection using anti-tag antibodies without target-specific reagents.

Expression region: Ser23-Phe202.

Biological Activity

Activity Validated

Measure by its ability to induce TF-1 cells proliferation. The ED50 for this effect is <0.2 ng/mL.

Perform a titration in your specific assay format to establish optimal working concentration. Include a previously validated lot as an in-house reference when qualifying new lots.

Safety & Intended Use

Research Use Only. For Research Use Only (RUO). Not for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical use. Handle in accordance with good laboratory practice.

What expression system was used for this Human LIF Protein protein?

This protein is produced in E. coli (prokaryotic). E. coli expression gives high yield without glycosylation — verify that your assay tolerates non-glycosylated protein.

What are the purity and quality specifications for this Human LIF Protein protein?

Purity: > 98% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE., confirmed by reducing SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin level: < 0.1 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method., measured by LAL assay — critical for cell-based studies. Identity is verified by peptide mapping or N-terminal sequencing on request.

Has the biological activity of this Human LIF Protein protein been validated?

Yes — biological activity is confirmed per lot. Activity data: Measure by its ability to induce TF-1 cells proliferation. The ED50 for this effect is <0.2 ng/mL.. Run a titration in your own system to establish optimal working concentration before committing all samples.

How should I reconstitute and store this Human LIF Protein protein?

Reconstitution: Please refer to the printed manual for detailed information.. Storage: Generally, lyophilized proteins are stable for up to 12 months when stored at -20 to -80℃. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-8℃ for 2-. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw — each cycle risks partial denaturation.

What research applications is this Human LIF Protein protein suitable for?

This protein is validated for ELISA, Functional Assay (In Vitro). It is commonly used as an ELISA standard, binding partner in SPR/BLI, or stimulant in cell-based functional assays. Validate performance in your specific format before use in critical experiments.
