Product Overview
Recombinant Human SCF Protein is a tag-free, full-length human SCF expressed in engineered human cells and supplied as a glycosylated monomer. It is produced in an animal-free, xeno-free format and lyophilized from a 0.2 µm-filtered PBS solution without carrier protein, with purity >95% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin <0.5 EU/µg.
SCF is used in hematopoiesis research, including culture and expansion of hematopoietic stem cells, and in studies of immune-cell development, mast cell biology and tissue repair. Its activity is confirmed by dose-dependent stimulation of TF-1 cell proliferation.
Expression system: Human cells · Tag-free · Animal-free
Scientific Background
SCF is a monomeric glycoprotein of 35 to 45 kDa produced by many cell types, including melanocytes, hepatocytes and bone cells. It promotes mast cell development and the survival and proliferation of melanocytes, and has a central role in hematopoiesis, particularly in the development of hematopoietic stem cells.
SCF has been linked to disease processes involving tissue remodeling and fibrosis, and it acts synergistically with other cytokines, including EPO and GM-CSF.
Research Applications
Recombinant human SCF is a growth factor for hematopoiesis and immune-cell research.
- Culture and expansion of hematopoietic stem cells.
- Hematopoiesis research, particularly development of hematopoietic stem cells.
- Studies of immune-cell development and function, including mast cell development.
- Tissue repair and regeneration research.
