Scientific Background
Mouse Hemopexin/HPX Protein — also known as Hemopexin; Hpx; Hpxn — Hemopexin (HPX) is plasma glycoprotein belongs to the family of the acute-phase proteins whose synthesis is induced after an inflammatory event. Hemopexin with two four-bladed beta -propeller folds has been found in other proteins including collagenases and provides sites for protein-protein interactions. The liver is the major synthesizing organ. Hemopexin participates in maintaining and recycling the iron pool by utilizing its high binding affinity toward heme composed of protoporphyrin IX and iron. It also functions in preventing oxidation caused by heme after hemolysis. Hydrophobic heme mo
Research into Mouse Hemopexin/HPX Protein supports investigations in cellular signaling and fundamental cell biology, with implications for cell signaling pathways.
Product Description
HEK293 Mammalian CellsC-His
Produced in HEK293 Mammalian Cells, preserving native glycosylation patterns and supporting biological activity in cell-based assays.
The C-His enables single-step affinity purification and can also serve as a handle for direct detection using anti-tag antibodies without target-specific reagents.
Expression region: Met 1-Gln 460.

Biological Activity
Activity ValidatedMeasured by its ability to bind protoporphyrin IX (PPPIX). Recombinant mouse Hemopexin binds > 15 μM PPPIX, resulting in a 50% decrease in the fluorescence signal of mouse Hemopexin.
Perform a titration in your specific assay format to establish optimal working concentration. Include a previously validated lot as an in-house reference when qualifying new lots.

This protein is produced in HEK293 mammalian cells. Mammalian expression preserves glycosylation and folding closest to the native protein, supporting biological activity in cell assays.
Purity: > 98% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE., confirmed by reducing SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin level: < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method., measured by LAL assay — critical for cell-based studies. Identity is verified by peptide mapping or N-terminal sequencing on request.
Yes — biological activity is confirmed per lot. Activity data: Measured by its ability to bind protoporphyrin IX (PPPIX). Recombinant mouse Hemopexin binds > 15 μM PPPIX, resulting in a 50% decrease in the fluorescence signal of mouse Hemopexin.. Run a titration in your own system to establish optimal working concentration before committing all samples.
Reconstitution: Please refer to the printed manual for detailed information.. Storage: Generally, lyophilized proteins are stable for up to 12 months when stored at -20 to -80℃. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-8℃ for 2-. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw — each cycle risks partial denaturation.
This protein is validated for ELISA, Functional Assay (In Vitro). It is commonly used as an ELISA standard, binding partner in SPR/BLI, or stimulant in cell-based functional assays. Validate performance in your specific format before use in critical experiments.
