Scientific Background

Vaccinia virus Soluble Interferon α/β Receptor B18 Protein — also known as Soluble interferon alpha/beta receptor B18; VACWR200 — B18R, also known as B19R in the Copenhagen strain of Vaccinia, is a type I interferon (IFN)-binding protein encoded by the B18R open reading frame in the Western Reserve strain of vaccinia virus. B18R exists in two forms, soluble and membrane-bound form and also has a broad species specificity. B18R has high affinity for human IFN-alpha and also binds rabbit, bovine, rat, pig, and mouse IFN-alpha and IFN-beta. Secreted B18R binds to uninfected and infected cells. B18R presents at the cell surface and protects cells from the antiviral state. It has shown that binding of soluble recombinant B18R

Research into Vaccinia virus Soluble Interferon α/β Receptor B18 Protein supports investigations in immune regulation and inflammatory responses, with implications for cytokine biology.

Product Description

HEK293 Mammalian CellsC-His

Produced in HEK293 Mammalian Cells, preserving native glycosylation patterns and supporting biological activity in cell-based assays.

The C-His enables single-step affinity purification and can also serve as a handle for direct detection using anti-tag antibodies without target-specific reagents.

Expression region: His20-Glu351.

What expression system was used for this Vaccinia virus Soluble Interferon α/β Re protein?

This protein is produced in HEK293 mammalian cells. Mammalian expression preserves glycosylation and folding closest to the native protein, supporting biological activity in cell assays.

What are the purity and quality specifications for this Vaccinia virus Soluble Interferon α/β Re protein?

Purity: > 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE., confirmed by reducing SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin level: < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method., measured by LAL assay — critical for cell-based studies. Identity is verified by peptide mapping or N-terminal sequencing on request.

Has the biological activity of this Vaccinia virus Soluble Interferon α/β Re protein been validated?

Yes — biological activity is confirmed per lot. Activity data: Not validated for activity. Run a titration in your own system to establish optimal working concentration before committing all samples.

How should I reconstitute and store this Vaccinia virus Soluble Interferon α/β Re protein?

Reconstitution: Please refer to the printed manual for detailed information.. Storage: Generally, lyophilized proteins are stable for up to 12 months when stored at -20 to -80℃. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-8℃ for 2-. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw — each cycle risks partial denaturation.

What research applications is this Vaccinia virus Soluble Interferon α/β Re protein suitable for?

This protein is validated for ELISA, Functional Assay (In Vitro). It is commonly used as an ELISA standard, binding partner in SPR/BLI, or stimulant in cell-based functional assays. Validate performance in your specific format before use in critical experiments.
