Overview
Recombinant Vimentin Antibody is an antibody targeting Vimentin. Host: Rabbit. Monoclonal. Clone: VIM/6576R. Format: Purified. Applications: WB, IHC-P.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: Vimentin.
- Immunogen: Recombinant full-length human protein was used as the immunogen for the recombinant Vimentin antibody..
- Species reactivity: Human (broad species reactivity predicted).
- Localization: Cytoplasmic.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
This MAb reacts with a 58kDa protein identified as vimentin. It shows no cross-reaction with other closely related intermediate filament proteins (IFP s) such as desmin, keratin, neurofilament, and glial fibrillary acid protein.Anti-vimentin alone is of limited value as a diagnostic tool; however, when used in panels with other antibodies, it is useful for the sub-classification of a given tumor.
Common research applications
- WB: relative abundance and band pattern assessment using appropriate controls.
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
Customization & Add-ons: Can’t find the antibody you need—or require a custom format for your assay? We can help you source the best match or support custom antibody solutions for diverse research needs, including species and isotype selection, conjugations and labeling (e.g., HRP/AP, biotin, fluorophores), purification grade options (Protein A/G, affinity purified), formulation preferences (buffer selection, carrier-free, glycerol-free), custom concentrations and aliquoting, low-endotoxin options for cell-based work, and application-focused QC/validation support (project dependent).
