Scientific Background
The SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid (N) protein encapsidates the viral RNA genome into helical ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complexes essential for replication and assembly. As one of the most abundantly expressed and immunogenic SARS-CoV-2 proteins, the N protein is a primary target for serology assays, COVID-19 diagnostics, and pan-coronavirus vaccine development. The Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant N protein carries R203K and G204R mutations that alter RNA binding and phase-separation behaviour.

Reconstitution instructions are provided on the Certificate of Analysis. Centrifuge the lyophilized vial briefly before opening, then add the recommended volume of sterile water or buffer and allow to dissolve at 4°C for 30 minutes without vortexing. Aliquot into single-use working portions in 0.1% BSA carrier protein to minimise freeze-thaw losses.
