Overview

SiDirect beads are superparamagnetic non-aggregate iron oxide microspheres made of highly cross-linked polystyrene with a specifically engineered coating. The beads are uniform and stable for capturing and purifying nucleic acids such as cell-free DNA. This design enables faster binding, with high sensitivity and selectivity, in both manual and automated research applications.

SiDirect Beads are superparamagnetic beads with a silica surface chemistry optimized for selective binding of short DNA fragments — including cell-free DNA (cfDNA) — from plasma and serum. The silica binding mechanism captures cfDNA efficiently under chaotropic lysis/binding conditions, enabling high-recovery isolation from small plasma volumes.

SiDirect Beads are designed for cfDNA isolation from plasma and serum (liquid biopsy). They are used in the SiDirect Cell-Free DNA Isolation Kit with compatible lysis/binding, wash, and elution buffers.

Isolated cfDNA is suitable for NGS-based liquid biopsy panels (somatic mutation detection, CNV analysis), digital PCR (ddPCR, dPCR), qPCR-based methylation analysis, and other applications requiring short fragment cfDNA.

SiDirect uses silica-based binding chemistry optimized specifically for short cfDNA fragments from plasma/serum. PureBind uses a different bead chemistry optimized for genomic DNA from whole blood and swab-type samples. For cfDNA liquid biopsy, SiDirect is the recommended choice.

No — magnetic separation eliminates the need for centrifugation or vacuum filtration, enabling higher-throughput processing and compatibility with automation platforms.
