Scientific background
ADP (Adiponectin) is a metabolic hormone/mediator that influences energy balance, glucose/lipid metabolism, or endocrine signaling.
Endocrine marker levels can help connect physiological phenotypes (diet, obesity, diabetes models) with molecular pathway changes.
Quantitative profiling supports group comparisons and can be paired with metabolic readouts such as glucose tolerance, insulin sensitivity, or lipid panels.
Why it matters
- Quantify ADP (Adiponectin) to compare biological changes across conditions, doses, or time points.
- Generate concentration data from a standard curve to support biomarker and mechanistic studies.
How the ELISA works
Designed for Simian samples, this kit uses a The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Simian ADP. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Simian ADP. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Simian ADP, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Simian ADP in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.. After binding and washing, signal is converted to concentration using a standard curve.
