Compound Overview
Sulfaquinoxaline sodium salt is an antimicrobial for veterinary use with activity against a broad spectrum of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. It is used to prevent coccidiosis and bacterial infections[1][2]. It is supplied as a light yellow to yellow solid (C14H11N4NaO2S, MW 322.32) at 99.68% purity.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and not for human or veterinary use. Handle in accordance with the Safety Data Sheet and your institution's chemical hygiene plan.
In Vitro
| Solvent | Solubility | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| DMSO | 100 mg/mL (310.25 mM) | requires sonication; use freshly opened DMSO (absorbed moisture lowers solubility) |
| H2O | < 0.1 mg/mL | insoluble |
Aliquot the stock solution and store it at -80°C (up to 6 months) or -20°C (up to 1 month); sealed storage, away from moisture; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

In Vivo
Sulfaquinoxaline sodium salt shows all antimicrobial residues present above the maximum residue limit (MRL) of 100 μg/kg for the drugs, up to two days after the medication is stopped[2].
Data provided by the manufacturer. Numbered citations refer to the Literature Cited list in the product description.
Animal Administration[1]
Use 240 1-day-old Cobb chicks for the depletion studies. House the chickens in pens containing 30 birds each (10 birds/m2), with ad libitum access to water and non-medicated feed. Randomly allocate the chickens to four experimental groups, labeled A to D, of 80 birds each. Group A serves as the untreated control, whereas group C is treated with 10 mg/kg bw of Sulfaquinoxaline sodium salt, given through the drinking water from the 32nd to 34th day of breeding[1].
