Sunitinib malate is a receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets multiple kinases including VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, VEGFR-3, PDGFR-α, PDGFR-β, KIT, FLT3, CSF-1R, and RET. In neuroscience, Sunitinib is used to study neurovascular signaling, glial activation, and neuroinflammation. Its broad-spectrum kinase inhibition profile makes it suitable for exploring the interplay between angiogenesis, immune responses, and neuronal survival in neurodegenerative disease models. Sunitinib is also being investigated for its potential to modulate blood-brain barrier function and tumor angiogenesis in brain cancers.
