Overview
Transglutaminase 2 Antibody / TGM2 is an antibody targeting Transglutaminase. Host: Mouse. Monoclonal. Clone: SPM358. Format: Purified. Applications: IHC-P, WB.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: Transglutaminase.
- Immunogen: Recombinant full-length human Transglutaminase 2 protein was used as the immunogen for the Transglutaminase 2 antibody..
- Species reactivity: Human.
- Localization: Cell membrane, Cytoplasm, Secreted.
- Conjugate: Unconjugated (no label listed).
Biological background (from provided description)
Recognizes a 77-85kDa protein, identified as cellular or tissue transglutaminase II (TGase II). Transglutaminases are enzymes that catalyze the crosslinking of proteins by epsilon-gamma glutamyl lysine isopeptide bonds. While the primary structure of transglutaminases is not conserved, they all have the same amino acid sequence at their active sites and their activity is calcium-dependent.
Common research applications
- WB: relative abundance and band pattern assessment using appropriate controls.
- IHC: tissue distribution assessment; interpret with matched controls.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, paralogs, and post-translational modifications when interpreting signal.
- Support specificity with biological controls (e.g., KO/KD where available) and technical controls (e.g., secondary-only/isotype).
