About the Analyte

Triglyceride content in cultured cells and small tissue biopsies often falls below colorimetric sensitivity, where a fluorometric readout preserves the same workflow with a lower detection limit.

Assay Principle

The Triglyceride Fluorometric Assay Kit applies a fluorometric format to this measurement, read at Ex/Em = 530/590 nm. Hands-on and incubation time is 90 minutes.

The released glycerol is then oxidized to generate hydrogen peroxide, which is catalyzed and reacts with the probe measured by the fluorometric method at Ex/Em 530/590 nm.

Fluorometric detection reaches the triglyceride levels found in cultured cells and small biopsies.

Q.What instrument do I need to quantify this analyte?
A.This kit requires a fluorescence-capable plate reader. The readout is taken at Ex/Em = 530/590 nm.
Q.What does the measured level tell me?
A.Fluorometric detection reaches the triglyceride levels found in cultured cells and small biopsies.
Q.Why measure Triglyceride?
A.Triglyceride content in cultured cells and small tissue biopsies often falls below colorimetric sensitivity, where a fluorometric readout preserves the same workflow with a lower detection limit.
Q.Which sample matrices are validated?
A.The datasheet lists serum, plasma, cell culture, tissues, other biological samples. Other matrices can usually be adapted, but run a spike-recovery check before relying on the values.
Q.How long does the quantitation take?
A.Combined incubation and handling time is 90 minutes. Keep this interval identical across plates in the same study, since timing differences show up directly in the endpoint.
Q.What is the detection range?
A.The kit is validated for as low as 1 mg/dL under datasheet conditions. Dilute samples that read above the range and concentrate those below it rather than extrapolating from the standard curve.
