Compound Overview
Tylogenin is a Na+/K+ ATPase inhibitor with an IC50 of 93.3 μM against rabbit-derived targets. It inhibits antigen-induced mediator release from rabbit basophils and IgE-dependent histamine release from human leukocytes, exhibiting antiallergic activity, and it can be used in research related to allergic diseases[1][2][3]. It has a molecular formula of C28H38O10 and a molecular weight of 534.60 g/mol.

In Vitro
In the BDSR assay, Tylogenin (1-300 μM; 15-120 min) inhibits antigen-induced serotonin release from sensitized rabbit basophils in a time-dependent manner, with an IC50 of 38.90 μM after 120 min of incubation; inhibition reaches 92% at 300 μM after 120 min of incubation[1]. In the LDHR assay, Tylogenin at 1-300 μM (4 h) inhibits antigen-induced Histamine release from leukocytes of atopic individuals, with an IC50 of 48.98 μM[1]. The activity of Na+/K+ ATPase in rabbit renal cortical basolateral membrane vesicles is inhibited by Tylogenin (5-2000 μM; 1 h), with an IC50 of 93.3 μM[1].
