function:E3 Ubiquitin ligase proteins mediate ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. E3 ubiquitin ligases accept ubiquitin from an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme in the form of a thioester and then directly transfers the ubiquitin to targeted substrates. Able to specifically bind RNA.,pathway:Protein modification; protein ubiquitination.,sequence caution:Contaminating sequence. Potential poly-A sequence.,similarity:Contains 1 RING-type zinc finger.,subunit:Interacts with DAZ proteins.,tissue specificity:Widely expressed at low level. Highly expressed in skeletal muscle, kidney and heart. Expressed at low level in placenta, lung, brain, liver and pancreas.
