Scientific Background
The SLC6A1 gene encodes a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) transporter, which removes GABA from the synaptic cleft (Hirunsatit et al., 2009 [PubMed 19077666]).[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2009]
