Post-Translational Modification Antibody

Product Overview

U-Blot® Pan-Carboxyethyllysine Rabbit mAb is a recombinant monoclonal antibody raised in Rabbit that specifically recognizes Carboxyethyllysine (Lysine carboxyethylation [Lys(K)]). It is designed for detection and analysis of the Lysine carboxyethylation [Lys(K)] post-translational modification across research applications.

Carboxyethyl lysine (Kce) is an important member of Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs), which is a non-enzymatic post-translational modification product of protein lysine residues. It is mainly formed by the non-enzymatic glycooxidation reaction between methylglyoxal (MGO), a by-product of cellular metabolism, and the ε-amino group of lysine side chains, and can also be induced by the autoxidation and cleavage of monosaccharides such as glucose. Kce modification can change the structure and function of proteins, activate downstream signals such as inflammation and oxidative stress by binding to RAGE receptors, and participate in the pathological processes related to diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, neurodegenerative diseases and aging, serving as an important molecular marker of metabolic stress and long-term oxidative damage.
