U-Blot® Pan-Symmetric Di-Methyl Arginine Rabbit pAb is a polyclonal antibody raised in Rabbit that specifically recognizes Symmetric Di-Methyl Arginine (Symmetric dimethylation of arginine [Arg(R)]). It is designed for detection and analysis of the Symmetric dimethylation of arginine [Arg(R)] post-translational modification across research applications.

Histones and non-histone proteins are subjected to a variety of enzyme-catalyzed post-translational modifications, including acetylation, methylation, phosphorylation and ubiquitination. Symmetric dimethyl arginine (SDMA) is an important arginine methylation mark catalyzed primarily by type II protein arginine methyltransferases. It is widely distributed in eukaryotic cells and abundantly present in chromatin proteins, RNA-binding factors and signal transduction molecules. SDMA participates in the regulation of chromatin remodeling, gene transcription, RNA splicing, DNA damage response and cell fate determination. Dysregulation of symmetric arginine dimethylation is closely linked to inflammation, tumorigenesis, cardiovascular disorders and neurodegenerative diseases, serving as a critical epigenetic marker for biological mechanism research and disease pathological study.
