Scientific Background
The molecular weight of PGP 9.5 protein is 27 kDa. It is highly expressed in normal neurons, widely distributed in neurons, nerve fibers and neuroendocrine cells of central and peripheral nervous system, and also expressed in renal tubules, Leydig cells, testicular spermatogonia, eggs and some cells in pregnant and non pregnant corpus luteum. It is often used in combination with Syn, CgA, CD56 and NSE for the study of neuroendocrine cells and their derived tumors.
