U-Blot® Phospho-GAP43 (Ser41) Rabbit mAb is a recombinant monoclonal antibody raised in Rabbit that specifically recognizes Phospho-GAP43 (Ser41) (Phosphorylation [Ser41]). It is designed for detection and analysis of the Phosphorylation [Ser41] post-translational modification across research applications.
GAP43, also known as neurotrophic factor, B-50, P-57, F1, and pp46, is a neuron growth-related protein. It is primarily enriched in growth cones and regions of high plasticity. In addition, GAP43 is one of the important substrates of protein kinase C (PKC) in the brain. PKC can phosphorylate the Ser41 site of GAP43. This phosphorylation process is regulated by intracellular Ca2+ concentration and affects the binding ability of GAP43 with calmodulin. This regulatory process plays a critical role in neuronal growth, synapse formation, and cortical development.
