U-Blot® Prestained Protein Ladder (1.7-40 kDa) contains 6 highly purified prestained recombinant proteins (1.7, 4.6, 10, 15, 25, 40 kDa). Reference bands are color-coded (40 kDa orange-red, 10 kDa green).
The broad molecular-weight range allows dynamic observation of protein migration during electrophoresis and precise estimation of target-protein size. After SDS-PAGE, the prestained bands transfer to PVDF or NC membranes as clearly visible colored bands, allowing transfer efficiency to be monitored directly during Western blotting.

- This product is ready to use. Thaw at room temperature for a few minutes, then gently mix. Do not boil, dilute, or add reducing agents.
- Load 5 µl into the gel wells (increase for wide wells). For first-time use, optimize the load with a pilot run.
- For frequent use, store at 2-8°C (3-month shelf life); aliquot to avoid repeated thawing.
Technical Notes
- Watch electrophoresis time; low-MW proteins may migrate off the gel front.
- For Western blotting of small molecules, bands below ~3 kDa may pass through the membrane.
- Avoid SDS in the transfer buffer; if required, keep below 0.02-0.04%.
- Prestained proteins show different apparent molecular weights in different buffer systems; pre-calibrate with non-prestained proteins for approximate sizing.
