Y 27632 is a highly potent and selective inhibitor of Rho-associated protein kinases ROCK1 and ROCK2. It functions as an ATP-competitive inhibitor and is cell-permeable. In neurodegenerative disease research, Y 27632 is widely used to study cytoskeletal dynamics, axonal regeneration, and neuronal survival. By inhibiting ROCK signaling, Y 27632 promotes neurite outgrowth and reduces apoptosis, making it a promising compound for therapeutic strategies targeting spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurodegenerative conditions.
