BeaverDevice Dry Bath Module, 1.5 mL, 6-Well, Aluminum

Product Overview

An interchangeable aluminum thermal block for the BeaverDevice™ dry bath incubator, machined with six wells for 1.5 mL microcentrifuge tubes. Aluminum is used because its high thermal conductivity gives fast, even heat transfer from the instrument's heating plate to the tube wall — which is what keeps every well at the same temperature.

Modules lift in and out, so one instrument covers many tube formats. Swapping the block takes seconds and is the usual way to move between, say, a 55 °C proteinase K digest in 1.5 mL tubes and a plate-format incubation.

Where it fits

The 1.5 mL 6-well format is the workhorse block for magnetic bead protocols. In BEAVER's own nucleic acid extraction kits the lysis step calls for 10 minutes at 55 °C in a dry bath, and this module is the matching block for that step at 1.5 mL scale. It also covers enzyme digests, heat inactivation, restriction digests, ligations, denaturation steps and SDS-PAGE sample boiling.

Compatibility

This is the module only — the dry bath incubator is not included. It fits the BeaverDevice™ full-range dry bath incubator (Cat. 2016C), which operates from −10 to 100 °C with a heating accuracy of ±0.2–0.3 °C and temperature stability of ±0.1–0.2 °C. If you intend to use it with a third-party dry bath, contact us with the make and model so we can confirm the block footprint before you order.
