Product Overview
CalFectin™ Mammalian DNA Transfection Reagent is a refined, pre-optimized calcium phosphate–based transfection reagent built on a novel chemistry. It carries a significantly lower calcium concentration than traditional calcium phosphate methods, which markedly reduces cytotoxicity while transfection efficiency is not compromised. The reagent works highly effectively for both transient and long-term stable transfection across most adherent mammalian cell lines.
According to SignaGen, CalFectin™ outperforms liposome- and polymer-based transfection reagents, with superior performance and higher efficiency in a wide range of cell types, among them HepG2, HEK293, CHO, HeLa, COS, NIH/3T3, LNCaP, C6, PC12, and primary cultured cells. A single 1.0 mL vial of CalFectin™ Reagent covers roughly 666 transfections in 24-well plates or 333 transfections in 6-well plates.
