Enzyme

Polynucleotide phosphorylase (PNPase) has key roles in mRNA processing and breakdown. In bacteria, RNA turnover includes poly(A) addition after transcription. PNPase is a phosphorolytic 3'→5' exoribonuclease and also a template-independent polymerase that uses nucleoside diphosphates.

Safety & Handling

For Research Use Only (RUO). Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. This enzyme is shipped frozen. Follow standard laboratory safety practices.
Q.What is supplied?
A.33 µl of 25 µM E. coli PNPase (catalog # PNP-100EC), enough for 100 assays.
Q.Which assay kits use this enzyme?
A.It is the enzyme used in: E. coli Polynucleotide Phosphorylase (PNPase) Assay Kit (BHT16300105) — PNP100KE already includes this enzyme; PNP100K is enzyme-free and needs this product. Kits marked as already including the enzyme contain it for their stated number of assays; this product supplies additional enzyme or the enzyme for the enzyme-free kit versions.
Q.Is a datasheet or protocol available?
A.There is no separate datasheet for this enzyme. The ProFoldin protocol “E. coli Polynucleotide Phosphorylase (PNPase) Assay”, linked under Documents, shows how it is used in the matching assay kit.
Q.How is it shipped and stored?
A.This enzyme is shipped frozen. Please contact us to confirm long-term storage conditions.
