Product Overview
CV-1, a fibroblast-like line, was established in 1964 from the kidney of an adult African green monkey (Chlorocebus aethiops, formerly Cercopithecus aethiops). Over the decades that followed it became a fixture of virology, molecular biology, and gene expression studies, and it is especially associated with simian virus 40 (SV40) research, with recombinant DNA technology, and with the building of transient gene expression systems. Adherent growth, vigorous proliferation, and ready susceptibility to a variety of viral infections make CV-1 cells a valuable model for studying viral replication, host–pathogen interactions, and transgene expression.
GenJet™ DNA In Vitro Transfection Reagent for CV-1 Cells arrives tuned to this line, moving plasmid DNA into CV-1 cells efficiently.
