GenJet™ In Vitro DNA Transfection Reagent for MDCK Cells is a SignaGen Laboratories reagent pre-optimized for plasmid DNA delivery into MDCK cells, so the usual optimization step is not needed. The MDCK (Madin–Darby Canine Kidney) line was started from kidney tissue of an adult female cocker spaniel that appeared normal, and it now serves as a standard model system in virology, epithelial cell biology, and membrane transport studies.

Product Overview

The MDCK (Madin–Darby Canine Kidney) line was started from kidney tissue of an adult female cocker spaniel that appeared normal, and it now serves as a standard model system in virology, epithelial cell biology, and membrane transport studies. Quite a range of viruses will infect these cells, vesicular stomatitis virus, vaccinia virus and Coxsackie viruses among them, along with selected reoviruses and adenoviruses. GenJet™ DNA In Vitro Transfection Reagent for MDCK Cells comes with its conditions tuned ahead of time, so plasmid DNA moves into MDCK cells efficiently.

Kit Contents

One milliliter of GenJet™ reagent is sufficient for approximately 300 transfections in 24-well plates or 150 transfections in 6-well plates.

Performance Data

GenJet™ In Vitro DNA Transfection Reagent for MDCK Cells – GFP transfection in MDCK cells
A Picture Showing the Transfection Efficiency of GenJet™ Reagent in MDCK Cells. MDCK cells were cultured according to ATCC-recommended conditions and transfected with the pEGFP-N3 plasmid using GenJet™ Reagent. Transfection efficiency was assessed 24 hours post-transfection by monitoring GFP expression.

Applications

This DNA transfection reagent supports a range of molecular biology applications including transient and stable transfection, reporter assays, protein expression studies, and gene function analysis in mammalian cell systems.
