Product Overview
NMuMG (Normal Murine Mammary Gland) cells make up a non-transformed mouse mammary epithelial line that turns up often in work on epithelial biology, cell adhesion, growth factor signaling, epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and cellular differentiation. Among the cell-surface proteoglycans they display are the syndecans, and the line is a valuable system for asking how cell proliferation, extracellular matrix interactions, and growth factor-mediated signaling pathways are regulated. Since these are normal epithelial cells, the cytotoxicity that comes with transfection can hit them harder than it hits many transformed lines.
GenJet™ DNA In Vitro Transfection Reagent for NMuMG Cells is tuned in advance for efficient DNA transfection of this line, the formulation worked up specifically to push efficiency as high as it will go while viability stays excellent. The protocol below was likewise refined for maximal transfection efficiency in NMuMG cells. One milliliter of GenJet™ reagent stretches to roughly 300–600 transfections in 24-well plates, or 150–300 in 6-well plates.
