Product Overview
PC-3, a human prostate adenocarcinoma line taken from a bone metastasis, is a common choice for studies of prostate cancer progression, metastasis, signal transduction, and therapeutic development. Transfecting these cells efficiently is possible, but they often react badly to the cytotoxicity that comes with conventional lipid-based transfection reagents — viability drops and experimental outcomes suffer. GenJet™ DNA In Vitro Transfection Reagent for PC-3 Cells is tuned in advance for efficient DNA transfection of the line; SignaGen attributes to its proprietary formulation and optimization the pairing of highly efficient plasmid DNA delivery with minimal transfection-associated cytotoxicity.
Up to 60% GFP-positive cells is attainable under optimized conditions, with viability staying excellent. The protocol below was refined to reach maximal efficiency in PC-3 cells. One milliliter of GenJet™ reagent stretches to roughly 300–600 transfections in 24-well plates, or 50–100 in 6-well plates.
