Product Overview
Yaffe and Saxel (1977) built the C2C12 line by serially passaging, under selection, myoblasts that had been isolated from the thigh muscle of C3H mice after a crush injury. The resulting cells still proliferate as myoblasts and, given the right conditions, fuse into multinucleated myotubes — which is why they are a common in vitro model for skeletal muscle development, myogenesis, muscle metabolism, and signaling pathways, with myosin regulation and androgen receptor (AR) expression among the topics studied. GenMute™ siRNA Transfection Reagent for C2C12 Cells comes tuned ahead of time to move siRNA into C2C12 myoblasts efficiently.
